A wedding cake is a big deal, every wedding will have a dessert other than the cake but you still need one because it’s tradition. As tradition would have it, the cake not only gets its own table but also everyone’s attention when the bride and groom cut it and that means that even if no one eats the cake, it still has to be incredible.
There are a few things you should know about wedding cakes and one of them is that they really aren’t that hard to make. A wedding cake is any other cake only three tiers of it. It may look like it takes some incredible culinary skill to make the cake but that’s rarely the case; all you need is a good baker.
White frosting will work; it’s no big deal and if you’re worried about the color of the cake being inconsistent with the color theme of the wedding; just use flowers to decorate it. Flowers are actually a classic way of decorating the wedding cake and as opposed to what some people think; it is absolutely germ free. Making the frosting a different color isn’t a big deal either but you might want to hire a baker to make the cake instead of asking your sister or grandma to do it.
The groom’s cake doesn’t even have to be a cake; it can be anything from a pudding to a fresh fruit bouquet. You can get fruit bouquets in all kinds of themes including soccer and basketball containers so they’ll work as an excellent alternative for the groom’s cake and will give an edge to your wedding arrangements.
